Executive Director (November 29, 2011)
ORCID seeks a full-time Executive Director to grow, develop, and lead the organization. As a new, international, not-for-profit, organization incorporated in the United States, ORCID’s mission is to transform the research ecosystem by delivering the technical infrastructure and service to enable persistent, and unique researcher ids to be generated and managed to the benefit of all stakeholders in scholarly research and the research ecosystem.
The Executive Director is the chief executive officer responsible for the organization’s consistent and timely achievement of its mission within its budget.The successful candidate will have the proven ability to build strategic relationships, work with a broad range of constituents, and mediate competing interests. Primary responsibilities will include promoting awareness of the ORCID mission and services among key stakeholders, fund raising, and directing ORCID staff and/or contractors. Anticipated start date Q1 2012. Salary commensurate with experience. Telecommute until Headquarters is determined. Significant travel required. Technical Director (January 17, 2012)
ORCID seeks a full-‐time Technical Director to lead all technology development and operations for ORCID, Inc. and is responsible for guiding its vision, design and implementation.
The Technical Director leads all technology development and operations for ORCID, Inc. and is responsible for guiding its vision, design and implementation. In addition, the Technical Director will act as an evangelist and focal point for community technical input by establishing strong relationships with ORCID stakeholders, including the open source community. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the electronic scholarly communications environment as well as significant experience with electronic metadata and content management systems. This role requires an individual who is comfortable managing ambiguity and operating independently. The Technical Director reports to the Executive Director of ORCID. Q1 2012 start date. Salary commensurate with experience. Telecommute until Headquarters is determined. Significant travel required.
