Two Specifications released by Technical Working Group: ORCID Deposit/Update Phase 1 API and Structure of the ORCID Identifier

The Technical Working Group has released two important documents.

ORCID Deposit/Update API Phase 1 Specification

The Deposit/Update API extends the Query API. With the exception of batch creation of new profiles, the API calls are designed for semi-automated, researcher supervised updates and additions to the profile. The specification is available here.

Structure of the ORCID Identifier Specification

This specification describes the format for the ORCID identifier, and the reasoning behind it. The specification is available here.
