Participant means a person or entity that has expressed interest in and has registered to participate in ORCID via http://about.orcid.org/register.  “Sponsor” means an organization that has contributed funding to ORCID. By using the ORCID website, You agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this notice.  

Content Posted by ORCID: Unless otherwise noted, content created and posted by ORCID on this website is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license, which means that You may use and build upon the content, as long as you credit ORCID for the original creation. The ORCID service mark and logo are proprietary to ORCID, and no permission is granted to You to use the ORCID mark and logo. In addition, ORCID has posted third-party trademarks and service marks on its website, and nothing herein is intended to grant You any rights to use such marks.  

Content Posted by Third Parties, including ORCID Participants: If You elect to post content on the ORCID website, you grant ORCID a license to reproduce, transmit, display and distribute your content on the ORCID website or for other ORCID purposes. ORCID also seeks to facilitate further sharing of content related to its mission. When you post content, you also will be asked whether you are making the content available for broader use by third parties who visit the ORCID website. The default option for contributed content is a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license, which means that you allow third parties to distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the original creation. ORCID does not control, takes no responsibility for, and makes no representations or warranties about, and does not endorse any content provided by third parties or content accessible through links posted by third parties, including ORCID Participants, on the ORCID website. ORCID shall not in any way be liable for any third party content.  ORCID reserves the right to remove any posted content at any time in ORCID’s sole discretion. We also reserve the right to discontinue access for any Participant or other person who violates the Terms and Conditions set forth in this Legal Notice.  

Links. ORCID links to Participant and Sponsor websites and may provide links to other third party content on our Website. By providing such a link, ORCID does not sponsor or endorse any third party or third party content. ORCID has not reviewed any third party websites (including those of Participants and Sponsors) for accuracy, appropriateness, completeness or non-infringement. ORCID makes no representations and warranties about such third party websites and content and takes no responsibility and is not liable for such third party websites or the content provided therein.
